Seems that in about 24 constituencies Tories did not declare all campaign expenses during the last General Election, which amounts to fraud. I wonder why this isn't bigger news...Channel 4 have covered it.

Is this the Tory battle bus? Used in key marginal constituencies and the cost then kept off the books which otherwise would have put costs over legal limit? They only have until tomorrow I think to do anything though and the Tories have blocked any investigation. Conspiracy on top of fraud

Old news, this has been rumbling on for a while. You tend to find that there are certain subjects that political parties don't try and gain advantage from. Noncing

Not as bad as the outright corruption of Tower Hamlets but rules are rules I suppose. Bit like those tax ones that weren't actually broken.

In response, it depends who is reporting it in that: Daily Mail (Conservative) owned by Lord Rothermere, based in S.France (tax avoider) ETC

Noncing Please don't hold back on the details... Hoping it's not just a UKIP representative complaining about Labour signing so many of its supporters up to postal votes.

One question - if it happened, and as you have posted no evidence about it one cannot comment, why aren't the other parties jumping up and down about it? Not a dicky bird from them.

According to that report, the Tories admitted it was an administrative error and no other party seems bothered with it. Seems a complete non story and a deflection from the anti semitism row engulfing Labour. Edited by matt_himself (04 May 2016 7.06am)

Having just googled it they may be the UKIP complaints. I have friends who live there and it was mentioned. Ones that I do know more about are the several frauds in Tower Hamlets and Birmingham. Whilst Googling it would appear Barking is another one

There is plenty of room in the media for two political stories. Firstly, administrative error is incompetence in the legal financial reporting officer for a sitting government party - that's a story, not an excuse. When it comes to auditable legal requirements, there is no 'administrative error' there are just failures to report. Second point, election fraud in a democracy is a major issue. It undermines the very foundation of our society and politics. The failure of parties to take it seriously, to me, demonstrates that they're all at it. Give secrets away, your a traitor, but violate political laws regarding voting, and its a minor offence. Anyone caught in election frauds is, to my mind, committing an act of treason in a democratic country; one which has far more serious consequences than any other crime in office. Its perfectly ok to slam more than one party in the press. Politicians must be held accountable to the public for their failures. Its the very life blood of democracy. Whether its racism, anti-Semitism, incompetence or fraud - its all important.
