I'd forgotten all about it until last night, now WFH because we have no trains AND no replacement bus. What I'm more miffed about is why did they sell me a weekly ticket knowing plans were afoot for two of the days to have no service?

.... and if anyone gets pushed under a train (assuming some are still running?) there will be no junior doctors to help them as they are on strike too!

We all know the companies are a disgrace because we have to put up with their poor service daily but the persistent battle between staff and management helps nothing. Further it seems an industry of perpetual buck passing between operators, governemnt, drivers and Network Rail Of course this latest strike over (mythical) conducters is a money saving exercise but even without fears over safety and redundancies, there are strikes to inhibit any sort of progress or change which union members don't endorse, while virtually every change at work inconveniences me and I have to get on with it because it's not a change resistant unionised public service. Unions are set up to only look after themselves, and that's what they do. There being no service, or a reduced and therefore overcrowded service, on Southern trains today doesn't help the public at all. Any class of person looking to get to work uninhibited by the selfish actions of others gets my support.
