Reading the papers this morning and watching the wild celebrations it struck me how, all of a sudden, their priorities have changed. I agree with you but I blame the FA for placing the most famous English club in the world in an untenable situation. I have absolutely no love for the FA. I consider them incompetent. I hold out hope that the Hillsborough Inquest verdict, due in a few minutes, will hold them responsible for selecting that ground when they knew, or should have known, of the previous problems with crushing in the Leppings Lane shelf terrace. In this case, Manchester United, whether they liked it or not, were practically ordered by the FA to participate in a meaningless tournament to the detriment of the FA's own prominent competition. For what? They actually thought Man U's presence in these glorified friendlies would influence anyone in the corrupt world of FIFA? At best, they were naive. At worst, they were, and I still believe are, terminally stupid. Had Man Utd said no, would the FA hit them with financial penalties? I believe they would have done so. I don't think they would have hit them with a points penalty. Reason, the FA is also one of the pettiest organizations going. They saw an opportunity to make money from this nonsense and if Man Utd didn't play ball with them (no pun intended) they would have taken their pound of flesh (well, maybe a pun intended. I agree that Sir Alex and company up there should have objected but I don't think the FA would have cared. That doesn't in any way excuse Man U for ditching the FA Cup, a far more distinguished competition that is also far better know throughout the world. I couldn't tell you who won the "World Club" Cup. You wait till after the game. Win or lose, you'll hate them more. Brave, gobby cvnts in numbers and size, cowards otherwise. I fully expect the stinky Frenchman's name to be sung by the very p1ssed and provocative.

Football fans, looking backwards to incidents, to justify their ire and spite 20 years on. F**k man utd, they're a team supported by tourists, plastics, and aren't really from Manchester anyhow (Dirty Salford, the s**thole of Manchester). They need to look backwards, like Liverpool, to when they were actually great. Halcyon days, when it wasn't all expensive flops, sex pest-a-like managers. They're the new Liverpool. Increasingly irrelevant year on year. Their glamour fading like that of a Victorian sea side town.
