The Guardian is reporting this today:

Perhaps it is not all so magical.

That allegation was also leveled whilst they were still in the Championship.

If you come to a fork in the road, take it.

Relegate them and let Villa off the hook.

Unfortunately, that would only allow one of the big clubs to win the league.

It will be interesting to see what, if anything, comes of this.

We keep being reminded, correctly, that lesta have spent a lot less than the likes of man city, Chelsea etc but I always maintained that they spent loads more than other Championship sides whilst they were going for promotion. They also had a number of players on £30k per week which would have been loads more than other clubs were paying in wages.
Years previously their flip-flop "Administration" was clouded in some mystery and was the last before the 10 point penalty came into being.
But there's no point in even trying to discuss it here because its as if it didn't happen! The local TV and papers are in overdrive at the moment, understandably. I doubt if they will want to bring too much attention to today's article.

My comment wasn't serious. I bet we never hear about this again.

Probably true, but isn't that exactly how Man City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Man Utd effectively established a virtual monopoly on the league. Man City broke FFP and got to compete in the champions league - rendering the entire concept for the premiership as moot. They also now use FFP as a means to maintain that monopoly creating an environment there they can spend 50m on a single player and pay them 200k a week, whilst other competitors cannot.

FFP missed the point - its about disparity of wealth creating an advantage, not the wealth.

Aren't Man City sponsored by a company owned by their owners? Bet they're definitely paying the market rate to Citeh for that

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Definitely 'cheated' their way out of the championship by the sounds of it.

Or avoided their way out of FFP.

This is true and the rules are crap, but they are still rules and clubs shouldn't be able to get away with unilaterally deciding not to abide by them even if they are crap. Other clubs do abide by the rules and are put at a disadvantage both by the rules and by those who flout them getting away with it.

If it was Palace rather the Leicester people would be making a much bigger fuss about this. It's only because of the media friendly "fairy-tale" of little Leicester winning the league that no one wants to pay any attention to this.

Whatever you think of the rules the evidence points to Leicester having cheated to be in the position that they are currently in, which is a real shame as it's great to see someone outside the established elite winning the league for a change. Feels somewhat tainted to me and always will unless there is proper transparent and full investigation done into this and proper sanctions meted out if necessary.

"if the amount paid is clearly inflated beyond market value"

So as long as they paid a fair price it's a legit deal.
