At least two of the girls (sorry, young-women) appear to be right-handed - disgraceful insult to left-handed people. Also, one is doing a hand-stand - how does this make disadvantaged people, who cannot do hand-stands without falling over, feel?

The most racist part of the whole article is the comment near the end: "No... that lil white girl [in the old photo] looks fierce. The beautiful black girl [in the new photo] looks pissed," wrote one. Gap should have told them all to f*** off.

Gap should make sure that in future all of the models are white which will ensure that they don't get accused of racism by the Twitterati. The only people who saw racism in the advert were those out looking for something to whine about

Do you think Gap paid people to complain about such an obviously not racist advert? I have now seen the advert numerous times. To (miss) quote Stephen Fry "'Your offended by that?' Well, so f***ing what."

People who get offended by crap like this do a real disservice to those who experience actual racism. Those who see racism in this are projecting their own bias

I find it curious that people can find the time to be utterly outraged by this, especially in the US, where you have several actual issues of real racism, not least involving Police shootings. Pft whats it coming to hey, you used to just be able to f**k them, and no one cared, but now you have to be careful not to abuse some more than others. Also, Exploiting kids to sell clothes that are made by children, for as little as possible, in some third world s**thole, where being abused is considered a promotion as you get an extra work break in your 14 hour shift, with one meal. Probably a bigger issue, than composition of the photography possibly, maybe, suggesting a kind of racial imbalance (see its hinting at the fact that the white girl is propped up by the work of the black girl or some s**t, I don't know, that just sprung into my head - Maybe its not racist, but Anti-Racist - a commentary on the tyranny of white corporate oppression.

I think they nicely played the 'race card', which managed to avoid the, hey aren't you using child labour to sell children's clothes at a massive mark up that are produced by child labour in some third world workshop with health and safety standards that would make Dachau look like a holiday camp.

Ergo, it's bollocks.

Another aspect of this is that they are all standing on downtrodden Mother Earth causing environmental damage. Surely in this day and age, when we have put people on the Moon (sadly only men - probably straight ones at that) it should not be beyond us to find a way of living our lives above the ground, perhaps suspended by kites or other environmentally friendly means.

BBC website posted the ad and asked if the viewer saw anything racist in it. After looking at it for a few minutes and seeing nothing untoward I had to read the rest of the article to see what it was they were on about
