I'm no horse racing punter by a long shot. In fact when I do I select my nags its by the following process. Number 9 or 10 (very relevant to me) if no 9 or 10 running I go for a horse name connected to me in some random way. In the event that none of these occur I go for the jockeys colours, yeah, red and blue stripes.I don't bet heavy just a grin bet so this is why I do this, and I've taken a few quid over the years. This brings me to declaring that on studying this mornings grand national declarations that the only horse in this years race with a palace connection is Triolo (D'alene) as in our Delaney and to put any doubts to bed its number bloody 10.Big price at 33's,has won at aintree before, won the prestigious Hennessy gold cup only 2 years ago on the same going ,good to soft, quality trainer in mr Henderson.Back it e/w ,walk out after bagging 3 points against Norwich and collect your dosh. Don't see any other outcome.

Couldn't agree more. And as someone who had 50 quid on Delaney 1st goalscorer on Saturday it'd be the perfect follow up. In fact, might do Delaney again on Saturday. As the horse says, we're due a Trio D'Aleneys

Like many, this is the only horse-race i ever have a bet on and this tip pretty much follows my usual route to picking a runner so i'm in. £10 e/w and fingers crossed.
Time to move forward together. |

Many years ago I was seated in the 'Directors Box' at Selhurst behind some Arsenal supporters who gave out a big shout in celebration at precisely the time that Ian Wright (Then with us) was felled by a crunching tackle. An irate Palace supporter bopped one of them with his walking stick and a furore erupted but it transpired that they were shouting with glee NOT because of the tackle but because they just heard on the radio that the horse they backed had won the 'Grand National' !

The tackle that ruled him out of the semi .. ? If so not to worry,he took the whack for the Arsenal behind us in the Arthur seating sections. They all cheered at the tackle. Did love that block 2 standing section in the Arthur.

Above link is the full list of runners and riders etc. Think the distance might defeat Trio D'Alene... he's won a Topham Trophy at Aintree (2 miles 5 furlongs) but pulled up 2 years ago in the National (4 miles 4 furlongs) I'm going for The Druid's Nephew - has won at Cheltenham and was going well in the National until he fell at Valentines last year. Number 9 carrying 11 stone and 16/1. I've also had a covering bet on Silviniaco Conti who is a class horse carrying 11 stone 8 lbs and 12/1. Both should give you a run for your money.

He'll stay on his feet slightly longer than Ashley Young in the penalty area.
