This is a business decision if true. Johnson needs to retire and they have a tour arranged.

They weren't the same after Bon Scott died. Back in Black was the only really decent album with Johnson but they have retained popularity.

Time to call time on it now sadly.

Sad indeed, I saw them at Coachella last year and they were fantastic but I've never heard noise like it so not surprised his hearing is at risk.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

gn'r had a special on tv here last year. my friend and i have been fans forever. i told him to turn it on as i couldn't believe how terrible axl was. it was embarrassing. fat, boring, voice was terrible. like a cruise ship version of gn'r.

same with ac/dc about 2 years ago. some special from germany or some place. nowhere near what i saw from them years ago. that was before ther drummer went to jail for being a pedder.

Problem I think, is when you play music that very much rooted in hymns to fast living, dirty street life and a casual attitude to consequence, its very hard to be taken seriously when that's all you have produced in 30 years.

AC/DC get a pass, because they never really gave up, even when they were unpopular and unfashionable.

Also, Axl Rose, wasn't all that talented to begin with and, with hindsight, the band probably would have been better off with a different singer anyhow, such as Duff McCaggen.

Definitely, unless they get the vocalist from Hayseed Dixie in, obviously...

Come off it, do you think sweet child o mine could be improved with a different singer?

No, but I do think GNR could have been improved with a different singer - Great vocal range, bats**t self destruct ego machine.

On a side note, the song itself was knocked up as warm up by the band before a practice session.

he's just sad at this point. he was trying to look like he did in 1986, only 40 pounds heavier and his voice is gone. maybe it's on youtube or something. awful.

duff can't sing for ####. listen to 14 years - sounds worse than me and i'm about as bad as it gets. maybe pry van zant's dopey brother away from touring with skynyrd.
