Somehow I don't think it'll be a phenomena linked solely to Scotland. Although some of the names are quite nice, if unusual, others simply suggest impending fate as strippers, hookers or a life in and out of care. There is something equally dull about naming kids Jack, John or Emily etc as well.

A proper chav girl told me that she was calling her child "Rogan" the other day. I really wanted to say "most people opt for the 'Josh' part when perusing the Indian Takeaway menu for baby name ideas" but managed to hold myself back.
