This clip is shocking (well I think so anyway) dunno if this is still the standard practice as factory farms are pretty shady places and difficult to infiltrate. I doubt Mcdonald's are going to reveal the true nature of how they treat their animals. The images of chickens locked up in cages together are still around though as is cheap chicken so it's more than likely they are not being treated well. As the demand for chicken and fast food increases the process would surely only remain at a similar level or get worse.

Farming practices have never been very nice but in relative terms, Britain is a good place to be an animal.

Some of the cruel practices worldwide are sickening.

There is absolutely no need to subject any animal to cruelty or stress of any kind whilst farming in this day and age.

I eat meat too but try to be responsible and source products where the animal or fish have been given decent lives, killed humanely and their environments sustained.

Factory farming causes stress - that has been proven. Halal butchery is not humane, and some fishermen use methods that are killing off certain species of fish forever and ruining all marine life by dredging style fishing for clams.

As humans we are supposed to be the guardians of our planet and all who live there.

Nasty evil things wasps, like crocodiles and snakes.....get rid!

Halal & Shechita methods of killing animals should be outlawed in my opinion, but wont of course for fear of offending 'Minorities' that said I believe Denmark had the balls to outlaw both quite recently.

I don't think you could in the UK, as it would violate religious rights to do so. I think you would need to create a law based on methods that cause suffering, which would have to include a lot more than just Muslim and Jewish practices - it would need to be about all forms of cruel and unusual practices in the lifecycle of meat production.

It worries me when religions fail to move on with the times and review practices that clearly have more in common with the pre-medieval superstations.
