I bet Sky Sports/BBC/TalkSport etc. are ruing all the money they've spent on their various productions tonight. Definitely not the blockbuster they were all hoping for.

Is this the end of Transfer Deadline Day as a major event in the football calendar ?

Thought the same, the wheels fell off this deadline day. Either a two bob loan going through or berahinos name mentioned every 48 seconds. Think a few hours is all that's needed ,12 hours is potty.

Think the Wheels fell off last Season, the same rumours and nonsence repeated over and over again and very little happening. I didnt bother with Sky this year, just had a quick look on my laptop now and again for updates.

January has been on the decline for a while though more was spent this window than the previous two Januarys.

The difference is that clubs appear to be more sensible, either you want a player or you don't, why string it out to the last minute where either you may lose out or be under pressure and pay over the odds.

the dignified don't even enter in the game

Agreed...ironically they've been the masters of their own downfall...the money means that Perm clubs get held to ransom...but they're desperate (those at the bottom) to stay in the division because of said wealth..but even the lower teams are now reluctant to do so due to the debts they're getting themselves in...something has to give.

Sky losing more of the pie to BT is also now causing them an issue...in order to sustain the other elements of their range such as Movies etc you can only get sports from them if you pay a crazy amount or take everything else on board...this is why so many people are seeking streams ..because its now costing close to £100 a month otherwise.

Sooner or later Sky will need to look at selling Sports packages separately for each team...such as a season pass otherwise they'll die a lingering death...they're in a catch 22 now they daren't offer any less for the Prem otherwise they'll lose the lot and disappear anyway...

Interesting times ahead

Usually there is a good comedy signing, but I think Newcastle have taken care of that already. Still there will be a few 'last day' changes etc but I don't forsee anything as funny as 'Andy Carroll for 35m' to Liverpool.

The fact that 'arry isn't employed as a manager always makes deadline day less exciting... I used to look forward to his chats through the car door window.

It was also a good laugh to go the reporters at the training grounds with the fans behind them.... but the HF ruined that for everyone!

Thought Natalie and Kirsty looked hot as usual. The other 2 birds are a bit ropey.

I agree though, this was the most boring deadline day ever and I expect Sky were very disappointed it didn't get going ever.

I turned on SSN for five minutes last night, in that time they were talking about some player I had never heard of and used his football manager stats to describe what type of player he was.

I turned off at that point.

When the highlight is a striker moving from Blackburn to Middlesbrough then you know it is a slow news day.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.
