I loved the book and the series, but its pacing doesn't exactly step up much. Very much a slow burner to say the least - It does make Homeland and the Wire look action packed! Quite a bit different to the Phillip K Dick novel.

Long term lover of Philip K Dick. Just get Prime and seen the 1st episode. Not as good as I'd hoped. But then, so few TV or Films are as good as the books. Top shelf of my bookcase. Attachment: image.jpeg (1,251.77Kb)

Love the book, haven't finished the TV series yet. Beautifully shot, some changes from the book of course, but enjoying the series so far.

By the end of the series its pretty faithful to the book, albeit transposing books for news reel - Although clearly the story line is broader and its metaphysical elements are less prominent. Its a pretty good adaption, faithful to the feel and spirit of the book if not necessarily the book itself. Season 2 is supposed to be out next year.

Have you read 'I am Alive You are Dead: A Journey into the Mind of Phillip K Dick'. Easily one of the best biographies written of Phillip K Dick (in fact its one of the best biographies of a writer I've ever read). It could itself be a Phillip K Dick novel.

Difficult to top "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" - brilliant book made into an equally brilliant Ridley Scott movie, "Bladerunner".

Definitely a better adaptation than Bladerunner, its very close to the material of 'The Man in the High Castle'. Thing about Blade Runner is that its only part of the book, and a rather small part. MitHC definitely covers a lot more in its adaptation. I'd say its up there with 'A Scanner Darkly', arguably the best adaptation of a Phillip K Dick book. Blade Runner is a better film, but these two are better adaptations. My dream is to see a great adaptation of 'The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch'.
