Asylum Seeker's Doors - Painted Red

I heard this story on the news this morning.

Firstly - if teenage gangs are going around hurling stones, eggs and dog turds at houses they suspect Asylum Seekers are living in then the Police need to lock them up.

Secondly, if the Company that owns these houses has a policy of painting the front doors red that is their business! It's not illegal. They may have a large stock of red gloss paint or just like the colour.

I expect this is a scummy area of Middlesbrough, but still a whole lot better than Syria right now... or maybe not?

I doubt that any of them are paying for their accommodation, so they have to put up with it as most likely other decent families are doing on that estate and are probably glad these teenage gangs are targeting someone else's property.

Before repainting the front doors (too late as the houses with Asylum Seekers are already known now) get the Police to round up these gangs and bang them up.

If the company are painting only asylum seekers doors red its a problem.

Middlesbrough better than Syria though, that's a tricky question, but probably, but its close enough that people from Sunderland are seeking asylum in Syria....

They should paint them black....

They aren't. All their properties have them as it makes it easier to identify them.

Shouldn't this be in the G4S thread?

Shocking that things like this get outsourced. How can there be a private firm who owns the houses when you can't get one on the council?

This is not on Hoof,
Its very very inconsiderate painting doors red.
(always takes 3 coats instead of the standard 2 due to the strength of the colour & requires 2 gloss coats on an undercoat)
basterds.

No problem then. Although faced with a problem of a red door, one should paint it black.

So the company that owns all these properties paints them all the same colour (as you would - makes sourcing the paint cheaper).

Some two-bob local c0cks then decide to target those properties.

Lock up the c0cks, and the issue goes away - nothing much to see here (it seems the fact they are asylum seekers is largely irrelevant to the story)

No can do - that would infringe their human rights - to terrorise people with red front doors!
