A sometimes loose 'link' , generally football, sometimes (ir)ellevant, often (un)interesting, 'statto' like in it's obscure nature. Some of these 'facts' would win the 'star prize' on 'pointless'.

I feel Willo is very much a 'marmite' poster although I wouldn't eat him.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Dad's not coming but marmite.

Marmite is made from yeast extract, a by-product of beer brewing. Other similar products include the Australian Vegemite, which is saltier in taste, the Swiss Cenovis and the German Vitam-R.

Yeast extract can be made as a by-product of bread, wine and beer-making. Although the ingredient and manufacturing processes have not changed, recent information received from the makers of Marmite indicates that despite thorough washing, it contains slightly more than the 20ppm gluten standard, now defined by law. We are now in the process of contacting other manufacturers of yeast extract products to identify their suitability for a gluten-free diet. For further information it is advisable to check with individual manufacturers

Although, years ago in the "Davenports Beer at Home" tv adverts, they did state that their yeast extract was used by the makers of Marmite.
This does not of course imply that it was said makers sole supplier of yeast extract.

(All the above information has been thoroughly googled and cross googled)

I once ate marmite in the golden summer of 1996, however we all know about the divisive nature of marmite and this thread isn't about marmite. Can we please just get back to the topic.

Yes. Can we please not turn this into another Marmite thread.

Willo seems to be sparked into action with any thread mentioning an ex player eg....

"Tom Watling (made up name peeps)... he first played for Palace at right-half in 1954 having signed from Corinthian Casuals for 10 guineas and his wages were a shilling a week.

He now resides in a rest home in Chaldon playing bingo and solitaire."

It's also of note Hoof that Tom Watling's son Henry is on the books of Blythe Spartans. Incidentally Watling's daughter Elizabeth once stood unsuccessfully I might add as a Lib Dem candidate in Redcar!!
