A good choice I reckon, and with either Jodie Kidd or Suzi Perry as one of his side-kicks, should be better than the last three old f@rts.

I didn't mind May and Hammond, Evans can be a bit annoying, but at least he has some personality. Suzi Perry is usually alright on the MotoGP too.

Clarkson is a nob but top Gear won't work without him.
Cynic or realist? It's a fine line! |

I tend to agree with the above. Whether you hated him or liked him, Jeremy Clarkson was Top gear, and in much the same way so were Hammond and May. They had an obvious chemistry that people picked up on. My mum knows the square root of fcuk all about cars, but loved watching the show. Chris Evans is a good choice, but I cant see it taking off the same way, a copy is never as good as the original just ask MK Dons fans about that. Good luck to Chris Evans and whoever else he has on, but I just don't see it comming off, it just won't feel or look like Top Gear without the Middle aged crisis ridden combo of mop head, midget, and casual racist. Clarkson was an ignorant prick, and that 90% of why it worked so well. Might be as succesfull here, but can't see Evans' brand of humour taking off in the states.

Clarkson is a nob but top Gear won't work without him. It might do, they've simply replaced an annoying nob with an irritating tw*t.

Good choice. Clarkson fans wouldn't have been happy with anyone except Clarkson. Max Mosley perhaps but I think he may be dead so possibly not an inspired choice.

I didn't mind May and Hammond, Evans can be a bit annoying, but at least he has some personality. Suzi Perry is usually alright on the MotoGP too. She stopped doing Moto GP 5 years ago! They'll need to make the show differently, which it doesn't sound like they're planning to do, as Evans works well with staff, not co-presenters. In terms of his knowledge of cars and screen presence, he's the right choice probably. Now show us the last 2-3 episodes that got pulled!

I only watched it for the 3 of them, even though the last couple of series weren't as good and were far more staged etc, I still loved it. Won't be watching it any more.

I'm sure i'll watch it, i'll reserve judgement for now but have a feeling that even they'll think "we've not got this right" after a few episodes.
