In WH Smiths today I noticed you can buy a Valentine's card for your dog (or presumably someone else's). This seemed really creepy to me. Is the dog expected to reciprocate? Anyone here had a romance with a pet that they'd like to share?

When I saw the headline I naturally assumed you meant your were going to target some "lesser lights" this year.

Yeah, but they won't sell many of the ones for dogs to send to their owners. They can't go shopping on their own.

Dogs already send each other Valentines in the traditional manner using lampposts or trees and it don't cost their humans a penny.
This is so stupid.....who would buy one? And why?

I think the target demographic is probably scorned middle aged women who have given up on finding love and now refer to their dog as their "baby". The type that buys outfits for their pets and uploads numerous photos of them to Facebook with un-humorous humanised suppositions as to what the dog is doing/thinking, e.g.: "Look at Benji, he wants to help with the cooking". No he f**king doesn't, he's wondering if he can half inch the sausages when your back is turned.

What sort of utter c*** buys a card for their dog ?...unless it is the type that can read.

I watched a video once of several women sharing their affections with (amongst others) a dog, a pig, a horse and an eel. I'm not entirely convinced it was all consensual though.

Yeah, that doesn't sound like the sort of romance that warrants a Valentine's card. I reckon they never called them again afterwards.
