Crowds go a bit overboard with him sometimes, but I concur with others. He's never been shy of putting off his opponents with ear bursting volume level celebrations. If you want to dish it out, be prepared to take it. He's now whining about a dynamic he helped create.

I met mr whitcombe many moons ago. He ran a pub in Sussex. Bit of a wow it’s him moment at the time. Very normal bloke though.

Coincidentally I met Keith Deller in May. He was doing a show with Bob Anderson, Bobby George and John Lowe. He was a nice bloke who seemed a bit shy. I played against Bob Anderson (total gentleman) and Bobby George (pleasant but a bit forced) about 30 years ago so John Lowe was the draw and he was brilliant, again almost shy but very friendly.

My mate gave me for Christmas back in the 80s a book by Dave Whitcombe, about darts (obviously).

What a legend of darts John Lowe was. A very understated character, but a massive talent and credit to the sport. You're lucky to have met him!

Absolutely. This was a veterans tour. I'd guess they'll do it again but possibly without Bobby George who didn't look at all well. Rab Smith was there too who some will remember.

From what I understand the bloke has had back trouble and the like for decades. Bad health in general I think. Definitely not the picture of health.

A great performanxce by Michael Smith tonight to win the PDC World Championship. Thoroughly deserved [Link]

Yes, glad for him; I thought van Gerwen would steamroller him. Any leg where both players are on a double after 8 darts is pretty impressive!

Yes, a near perfect leg really. A great match and no excuses from MVG. Credit to Smith for making his way to the height of the game too.
