I believe Cahill was offered a new lower contract to his last one by Palace. Not sure it was £35k a week it might be slightly less but sensibly it is weighted on appearances. He is rumoured to being looked at by Rangers, does he want to play in the freezing cold for half the year for a few quid more? We'll see!!! He doesn’t have the Jermain Defoe option of only playing 10 minutes a game either.

Guess you cant blame him following the money he cant have that many years left playing. Still I reckon i could scrape by on 35K a week

I can't see Rangers paying anyone £35k a week, certainly not a 35/36 year old. He was excellent for Palace and I'd like to see another season from his if the wages are right for both player and club.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |

Not only that, the standard of football in Scotland is just so poor at the moment. Celtic are lining up this week for their usual July Champions League exit. Always makes me smile.

Yes, the first british club to win the European cup-(a much bigger deal than the champions league), and every player born within 10 miles of Celtic"s ground-imagine!

As recently as 2017, they drew twice with Manchester City in the group stages.

Rangers could've offered him £20k a week (same as JD) and a 2 year deal (with maybe a coaching option) when we almost certainly would've offered him 1 year. At his age it's a different challenge, chance to win another couple of trophies and play in Europe. He'd probably prefer to work with his mate Gerard opposed to Viera too. No brainer for him but big loss to us. Originally posted by Teddy Eagle

Not to worry. We've got Tomkins, Kouyate, Guehi and Kelly for two spots. Plus people like Jairo and Ward who can provide emergency cover there. I'm happy with that. If we can bring one more in, even better. Edited by sprites (19 Jul 2021 12.48am)
