I've little doubt that feigning - or exaggerating - injury is far more widespread than in days gone by, but it's not new. I still recall seeing Francis Lee in the seventies going down like a sack of coal, clutching his face, after an opponent had lashed out at him. Just one slow motion replay clearly showed that Lee hadn't even been touched. Jimmy Hill called him out and was not impressed. Just another example of cheating which the authorities are too feeble to try and do something about.
