The premier league this year is actually a lot more even than in previous seasons, aside from the bottom three. The gap between Leeds in 9th and Chelsea in 4th for example is currently 11 points. After 33 games 3 years ago ie 2018 it was a colossal 28 points. Games this season aren’t all that one-sided. Although we have been in some

We're an older squad, there is a severe lack of pace. We don't press, except for short periods, we don't make good runs, we drop deep - sometimes even against bottom sides. We also don't cross as ours cut inside, there is usually no one in the box anyhow. Roy is doing what he thinks will keep us up. That is probably true. However, our football is boring. can we blame an older squad? Burnley have a similar age and they work their socks off. Their X1 is less talented than ours but they always look organised and hardworking.

I think Burnley really benefit from a good CB pairing. Tarkowski and Mee are about as good as you get outside the traditional top 6 and Liverpool & Arsenal would take them currently. The rest of the team doesn't have to be set up to worry about them being exposed so they can play higher up the pitch and win the ball back in an area they can actually attack from. An attacking midfielder who wins the ball back 40 yards out doesn't need to be as good as one who wins the ball back 80 yards out. Best thing that could have happened to us over the last 2 years would have been Sakho, Cahill & Tomkins getting some form of injury immunity.
