While I agree Parish has behaved well and come across excellently in the last couple of days, to a point where both a Chelsea fan mate and an Arsenal fan mate both texted me on seperate occassions and said they wished they had a bloke like Parish running their club. But.... Hypathetically if say Palace had done a Leicester in the last couple of years and won the Prem, prompting these teams to invite Palace in to their little gang and collect a 500m entry fee (with the promise of another minimum 150m a year for participation) can you 100% hand on heart say he wouldn't be interested? I couldn't. He was asked that very question directly in Newsnight and said emphatically "no". Make of that what you will.

Both were owned by a Qatar Government Investment fund, making them Qatar state owned (in reality the ruler of Qatar). To get round the rules for the Champions League, two in the ruling family have taken over different arms of Qatari Investment funds and split the clubs between the two arms of, realistically, the exact same entity. Our owners own other teams, so do plenty of others, but it only becomes a problem in the same competition.

Gimme Steve Parish as chairman over anyone else in PL. I was at Selhurst the day he and his three buddies were presented on the pitch. I got goosebumps all over the body. Even if I do not always agree with his ideas, he knows the facts and I know he always has the club's best interest in mind.

I agree; he gives every impression of being a very steady hand on the tiller with sound judgement. Equally, he is a clear communicator and seems to handle pressure well.

Maybe because we’ve overpaid on wages and there’s been little competition. Or the competition there is will be injured, on the bench, or too old to play often anyway. It’s often a stroll for a lot of them. Are the attacking players happy? But I agree they’ve been a unit to always get over the line rather than argue and collapse the dressing room. Only one manager has been partly pushed out. FDB. Parish really needs the new stand done. It’s holding the club and him back, and with these yanks I doubt it’ll happen. Plus Parish rumoured to want to remain as chairman putting potential investors off.

I take your point about overpaying on wages; however, the two that stand out are Benteke and Sakko and Palace, at the time, seemed to want to make a statement that they wanted to move to the next level and attract the higher quality player. It certainly hasn't turned out as planned and both have certainly not lived up to expectations; the financial hit on both is significant.

Could we as Palace fans ever own some controlling stake in the club? Could all 92 teams have something like this, giving fans across all leagues more power? Could we set a transfer and wage cap in the league? This cap would basically relate to the best player, and all other player's value would be measured against this, reducing the need for more investment in football. Can we wrestle the power back from the bigger clubs? Can we enforce Financial Fair Play? So that clubs running into debt will be punished with point deductions? Can we ever have a league where merit of a well runf club really does mean something and not just money?
