Why didn't 3-4-3 work for us but does for others?

Just looking at the Chelsea and Brighton line-ups for tonight's game and both teams have gone for a 3-4-3. When we tried to use this under FdB it was a disaster, but a lot of clubs seem to going for it these days.

So why didn't it work for us? Genuine question. Know all the stuff about us not having the right players, but what does that actually mean? A lot of clubs (Chelsea and Brighton included) seem to be able to adapt the same pool of players into different formations...

The answer is we do not have the right players. Ours are not capable of passing the ball and running into spaces apart from being elderly to play the way Brighton do. On the other hand we are above them In the league so there are different ways to play the system. COYP

It was more that FdB started with TFM and Reidewald as two of those back 3, both making premiership debuts.

Against Swansea it looked slightly better when we started with a different back 3, but I think Dann got injured, then Kelly had to hold things together.

I think we played Puncheon as a holding midfielder too.

It was just suicide.

Has we played it with Sakho, Dann, Thomkins then it could have been a completely different story.

Unfortunately it doesn't really allow Eze to play in his best position, just floating in between midfield and strikers. Really think he's worth building around. So whatever we play in the future, think 3 in the middle is key. I like 433

Fergason Tomkins Sakho/Cahill PVA/Mitchell

Luka/Jairo Macca

Eze

Wilf Benteke Townsend/Schluppy

You're assuming Ferguson will actually play a game before the polar ice caps melt.

The difficulty was that we had a manager incapable of creating a system that suited the squad and instead tried to force us into 343 before we had the players capable of it. We needed to invest to play it and we ended up with Ward at CB but he persisted. It would be worse now our cbs are all nearly 40 lol

On the Ferguson point did we have to pay compo or will they look at the fact we have been paying for his rehabilitation and not played?
