Ok we won the game which is always a plus but it was a poor performance again. WBA are another poor team even so they created more chances and held the ball better than us. Playing Eze and Ayew on the wings didn’t help. Neither of them are wingers and instead Schlupp and Townsend. Ayew I thought became our most creative player on the pitch by simply running with the ball, not sure their actual role was to be wingers but he and Eze held our most attractive moments with their movement, Benteke had one very good effort with his left foot and then totally wasted his other with his right, he should've been somewhat better but no worse then the majority wearing the same colours ..thought we were fortunate considering how our goal arrived.

I would guess he got a contract because he can pass a ball, has composure, can dribble, can tackle, is probably fitter than everyone on here, played at Ajax for years so knows how football should be played, can play most positions on the pitch, happy on the ball anywhere on the pitch, takes the pressure off his teammate with a pass that is the correct speed and on the floor more times than not .. if you’d prefer someone else recommendations welcome

Agree 100%, some seem to want Wilder who plays awful football and cant motivate his team, now destind for relegation. There is absolutly no logic to some of the nonsense posted. Agree also. Reminds me of the end of every season when some call for the underperforming players from the relegated teams to be signed.

I was rather hoping we'd be able to string more then three passes together and to be able to create and score our own goal rather without the help of one of their players stupidly handing us a ridiculous free shot at their goal. Bang on! With better quality finishing, this is a game that W.B.A could've got all 3 points from. Palace possession play needs working at rather than all too easily giving away.

So WBA can tank Chelsea at Stamford Bridge 2-5, which puts our 1-0 over WBA in perspective and a win we deserved.

A few of the Chelsea players who have been regular starters were confined to the substitutes bench probably on account of the recent Internationals so this helped WBA as did the sending off! Of the starters, Pulicic and Ziyech have hardly set the world alight this season. Prior to the game today, Chelsea had only conceded 2 goals under Tuchel in 14 apps (All competitions) and they concede 5, WBA had only scored 1 goal in their previous 5 games! What a strange season!

I’d be worried that we’re Chelsea’s next league opponents next Saturday. Fortunately they are playing in Portugal Wednesday night so

A strange season indeed. However I have no sympathy whatsoever for a club who can have 40 or so players on loan. This smacks of total arrogance from Tuchel. He needs to learn this is not the Bundesliga or Ligue 1

Just serves to demonstrate that no Premier League games are easy and all points are hard won.

I never said “ it was a brilliant game” WBA did not create anything in the whole 90 minutes against us, where they outplayed Chelsea yesterday, not sure where you are coming from to be honest.
