How's the Roy Out bandwagon? We have the most points ever in the PL after this many games. It's not that long ago Charlton decided Curbishley needed replacing and where are they now. I don't have a problem with setting the season target as survival and anything more than that is a bonus. Take the odd scalp, score the odd worldie or two, that's enough for me. The game is about results, as our manager said, there are no prizes for possession, corners etc. The vast majority of the Roy Out brigade tend to damn with feint praise and even moan when we win if it's "lucky ". NO problem with opining Roy should go if any objective reason's rather than it's no fun to watch us performing poorly. Well, amazingly it has been like that since a football was first kicked. Hindsight is wonderful The term bedwetters is not particularly perjorative and in my opinion is a good way to describe the mind set of some on this board. As for posting on NSC, that is much more abusive than calling someone a bedwetter. Anyway, enough time spent on this If we beat Fulham then Roy really has to go.....

You are mostly abusive whatever the subject. This is a board with opinions, now I appreciate some lack the intellectual ability to rationally put forward an argument but if you want to deal in abuse only can I suggest you post on the NSC. Edited by Eaglecoops (24 Feb 2021 9.28am)
Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

Given we had been shipping goals for fun it was hardly surprising Roy set the team up narrow and compact. In effect we had a line of 4 protected by a line of 5 / 6 making us hard to break down and limiting the number of clear-cut chances they had. The 2 goals we scored were bonuses really.

I’m glad we see it the same way. Oh and if you are going to use words like pejorative then at least make the effort to spell them correctly. This is the problem with Roy supporters, no attention to detail, just look at the points and assume everything is ok.

It's certainly true that some sections of the Charlton fan base wanted him out but the board did offer him a new contract which he declined. Curbs did a great job on a limited budget and presumably the board said more of the same please. At that time Curbs was very much a manager on the up and had been linked with Liverpool and England so probably figured it was time to move onto a bigger club. Curbs was a young manager on the way up Roy has fewer days in front of him than behind.
