Bats first touch is shocking and cant hold it up. Zaha rarely holds it up neither does ayew. Benteke is probably best at doing it but with roy determined to play zaha centrally cant see benteke playing ahead of bats or Ayew. M Would like to see benteke and bats together with zaha and Townsend wide but that ain't going to happen... Good shout as benteka flick ons for the pace of bats aka AJ and ships Got to be worth a shout as the long ball game is all we have as an option given the two banks of 4 Roy prefers Cant be any worse than the current dross

I'm starting to wonder if there is a hidden arrogance with Hodgson. His treatment of Eze and Camarasa before that, anyone that does not fit in with his rigid structure. He was smirking during the interview after the game when he was trying to justify such an abysmal performance. I remember seeing his treatment of that reporter when he was West Brom manager. I've got a feeling that underneath the charm lurks a real arrogance and stubbornness. The problem is that at the moment he has Parish where he wants him. All that matters is safety, the only thing that would change that is if we suddenly went on a run of defeats and were rock bottom
