I may be missing something that others have heard but does Batshuayi not count as that striker?

Not the extra one that Roy wanted because he made the comment after Batshuayi arrived.

Unless my maths is wrong I counted 28 senior players. I thought we are only allowed 25 in a senior squad plus youngsters. Do Eze (22 years old), Mitchell (21) and Ferguson (20) all count as youngsters and if so for how long?

Your Maths aren't wrong.
Mitchell and Ferguson don't count (Mitchell will from Jan 2021 and Ferguson from Jan 22). Players who are UNDER 21 as at 1 January don't count. Eze does count.
Expect Hennessey NOT to be included in the 25 for this part of the season as it seems he has an injury that will keep him out for several months if the rumours are true - and presumably they are true otherwise we wouldn't have made the last minute dash for Butland who confirmed he was only approached on Thursday evening! Take Ferguson, Mitchell and Hennessey out and we are down to the 25 max with Woods presumably dropping down to the U23s - he's still 22.
(all change with next transfer window perhaps)

A promising transfer window petered out. Are we surprised?

Given our performance in past transfer windows this represents a revolution. Should we be happy with our lot?

As with every fickle football fan (probably all of us) I would answer 'No' to both questions.

Overall transfer window verdict, C+. Can do better.

I feel we need to see at least twelve games before we award ourselves marks, we must let players settle in and get back from injury ...hard to say 'can do better' especially when we of all people know what a difference one player can make to a team....

I'm fairly satisfied with it. Addressed a few concerns RB, striker, creativity and age.

But as with all windows it'll be a good 6 months before we can really judge if it is a hit or miss... a win on Sunday would be a positive start

That's helpful thanks, wasn't sure what the dates/ages were for becoming a senior player.

Thanks for this. Just to put it into perspective, I think we had 5 goalies on the 25 last season, so I'd say we're doing much better.

For me it was a B+ or 7.5/10. But I think it's hard to get a mark better than that.

A green, think we did some decent business. Ferguson, Clyne & Butland all for next to nothing (tribunals always stitch up the selling club).

Eze looks a real prospect and Bats is a good striker with an option to buy. Got some money for Sorloth which looked unlikely when he was being shyte on loan to Gent.

Vive le Roy!
