I know Old dogs New Tricks well. They have been playing out there for years although I would say they don’t have many new tricks left any more! Route 66 And Las Rosas in Puerto Santiago are their normal venues now but there has been very little recent evening entertainment. Everywhere is suffering badly as you would expect without us Brits filling the bars and restaurants. I should be out there now but Boris and his essential travel only to all corners of Spain has put a stop to that. I witnessed 'Old dogs, new tricks' performing in the square opposite the church in Los Gigantes when the fiesta was in full swing. I have stayed in Puerto Santiago - in the Barcelo hotel.

Nice hotel that, just been refurbished too. My mate from Willesden owns the Sunset Bar across the road from the hotel entrance. The fiesta is great in Los Gigantes, well worth a visit.

I was resident in the Hotel Los Gigantes and one could hear the loud music from the church square blaring out loud until the early hours.

Never mind the diving he should look at the end product of the players on both teams over a season. Lewandowski as an example has an extraordinary number of assists on top of his goals. That's why he'll not get signed by a top European team.

I think the OP has a fair point. Putting aside comparisons with Lewandowski, I know I have watched in frustration on the many occasions when Wilf has gone into his hard done by, victim mode, mouthing at the ref. routine. Yes he does get fouled a lot, but, in the end, what does he gain by the tantrums? He regularly gets jeered by away fans who see him as a diver and moaner. That wouldn't be a problem if the jeers it spurred Wilf on to stuff the insults down the opposition fans throats, but all to often he just sulks. He has won us a number of penalties but I do wonder if a few more decisions may have gone his way if he wasn't so known for over-reacting all the time. To paraphrase the bard, Wilf doth protest too much, methinks. Far better to get up and get on with it.

I watched the CL semi and saw Lewandowski assaulted consistently but he pays that back by outperforming the defence and @stuffing it down their throats'. Messi, too, has had horrendous treatment over the years but just gets up and gets on with the job. No toys, no pram. When Wilf learns this, he'll be worthy of signing for a big club away from Palace. Otherwise? Why bother?

Otherwise? Why bother? you've oversimplified Wilf's limitations. It's not the diving that separated him from the likes of Lewandowski and Messo. There were teenagers on the pitch last night with more composure and end product in the final third. Why would you sign a 27yo whose already behind your young talent who can achieve better ends without the wizardry?
