Parish's legacy is ultimately going to hinge on PL survival and sorting out the stadium. The two things which give us that long term stability.

He's doing well on one, though the next 9 months need careful navigation. The other one is a bit dead in the water currently after years of announcements, retweets and computer images.

Had we got going on it when the plan was announced, there literally hasn't ever been a better time to do. We'd have been building this season, with no fans. Alas....

Parish likes to surround himself with ex palace players which won't question him at all. Unless we get someone in who wants total control we are stuck !!

It was the current shareholders who agreed the deal with the Americans.It was always a business deal favourable to them personally( chairman almost certainly receiving over £30 mill in 8 years in wages etc and £6m for 10 per cent of his 25% shares. At the time it was very well publicised they were the lowest payers in the NBA ,indeed were having legal issues paying their players below minimum wage.It was not the Palace football club who brought these people in it was SP and the shareholders at the time-it was a play off between getting a good deal for themselves and future investment in the club.The same will be true of any future deal as money for the shares will go to the shareholders not the club.Our shareholders paid tops £10m for club and ground and have long since got their money back in spades but obviously do not want to reinvest,nor do the Americans unless it is money generated by the club.Therefor the never ending transfer sagas of half price starting offers and ‘just failing to get deals over the line” will continue until investors magically appear who want to give SP and co lots of money for the shares and then reinvest bundles into the ground and players.Covid just adds to the issues and gives a perfect excuse not to spend if one is needed.
Nothing really new with any of this -from Bloye selling Whitehorse Road to the current deal Palace owners have always thought of themselves first and foremost whilst blaming others for our financial woes and declaring their love for the badge..I suspect most individual businessmen would think the same unless they are money laundering or a really really wealthy supporter who is just a Good Samaritan!Very unlikely with Palace’s luck!

It's pretty amusing that every pre-season you have fans plucking the most bizarre thoughts behind what Parish and Co get upto.

Here's my 2 pence:

1. Parish....is not Dick Dastardly and isn't trying to figure out how to burn down the club at every opportunity... no matter the absurd beliefs of some.
2. Yes it seems the american investors aren't really concerned with spending much for Palace.... I am sure Parish & Co didn't go into an agreement with them to spend sweet f*** all but i expect they are intelligent enough to not let them(the americans) asset strip CPFC.
3. We have a pot of money for transfers as Parish/Freedman have previously stated.... but on wise investments only. Benteke being a prime example of spending big and getting an utter donkey with little return.
4. "If" Parish has awarded himself this £2.5 mil a year wage (no idea where the evidence is (I can't find it).) It has to be agreed and approved by stake holders also. I don't think it's an unfair amount in this day and age and it is little in the comparison shown below.

Let's put it in comparison of Sakho....£100k a week = £5 mil+ a year, plays minimal games, makes mistakes etc which lead to goals, has diminishing sell on value... Parish - directs a football club that has achieved 8 years in the premier league on a small budget/ small budget spent, improvements being made to stadium and academy, obviously he is doing something right if everybody who owns the club has not queried his position.

5. I agree it's a concern about getting new players in but from other posts it seems we are investing in the squad (new additions imminently arriving) and the panic should only begin when Willo posts his routine - "we are doomed and going to be relegated post".... So in about 2 weeks.

6. I'm pretty sure there is movement on the stadium, albeit very slow.

The Section 106 agreement states that the club must make improvements to the local community, as well as causing as little impact to the area as possible.

The full project is expected to take up to three years to complete, meaning it could be ready for the 2023/24 season. However, it is likely to be ready for a later season, due to the housing issues in the planning and the current global circumstances.​

With Covid19 etc, I expect it won't acutally be finished until a more likely 2026 or later.

Improving and providing better transport links in and around Croydon I expect is a logistical nightmare.

7. Although people don't believe the academy will create an explosion of players. I do believe it provides the community and the club a much needed improvement of standard of resources for the academy and this can only be a good thing in attracting youth in the local catchment and talented youth from elsewhere.
