How can CPFC continue with a big wage bill and no income?
I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything. |

The great majority of CPFC income (90%+) probably comes from the sale of Premiership TV rights. I believe that this may be paid in advance or at worst in installments. Income will be down of course and a concern. But it is unlikely that will be by enough to make it a survival issue. For clubs in the lower leagues, the situation is much more grave. Hopefully (though I doubt it), the premiership will step in and offer financial support.

Yes. The bulk of the club's income comes from Sky and the second largest hunk comes from season ticket sales. The main slice of income that they are missing out on is season ticket sales for next year

I'm pretty much convinced that Sky will be doing everything they can not to pay the clubs anything whilst trying to hold on to all their subscribers. If the TV money doesn't come through then a lot of premiership clubs will be in real trouble unless the players agree to a wage cut. As all clubs will be more or less in the same boat then I don't think they will be trying to steal each others players and the players will be forced to take it. It will be a much bigger problem as you go down the leagues where match day revenue is lower and players arent so increadibly wealthy. This could also cause issues for FFP.

Maybe they had a premonition when they decided not to spend the money from AWB's sale.

Who have thought one of the most bizarre transfer strategies in the prem would leave us comfortably placed mid table. If the league starts again we are fine. If we stay in lock down for months we have a slush fund. Cut wages a bit and we could be top 4 with 13 months!

Sky allowing Sports customers to pause their subscription so expect they'll pause their payments to PL as well

That was a gesture of goodwill and they weren't contractually bound to do it. I expect that Sky's contract with Premier League to be fairly watertight

I expect clubs are contracted to complete 38 games, BT, International and Sky contracts will stipulate the amount of games they are paying to air. The season isn't going to be completed, so they wont be paying the full amount.
