Palace are the current holders of the little known but extremely prestigious Premier league challenge belt.

Manchester City held the belt at the start of the season following their previous title win, but lost it mere weeks into the season after a fluke defeat against Norwich City.

Norwich were unable to hold the belt for more than a week before Burnley took it from them and held onto it for almost a month before a loss to Leicester City in mid October.

Leicester went on a might run fending off challengers left and right, before eventually going down to original holders Manchester City in December - though City gave up the belt quickly, losing their very next game to Wolverhampton Wanders.

Unfortunately for Wolves their reign lasted a mere two days before a difficult schedule put them up against an undefeated Liverpool side who snatched the belt with ease and kept it in their possession for two straight months.

But in late February Liverpool finally slipped, giving up the belt in a 3-0 defeat against Watford - though they were unable to hold on for long, losing in their very next match to the mighty Crystal Palace who will now win out and keep the PL Challenge belt for the rest of the season

Belt Progression:

Season Start - Manchester City

14/09/2019 - Norwich City

21/09/2019 - Burnley

19/10/2019 - Leicester City

21/12/2019 - Manchester City

27/12/2019 - Wolverhampton Wanderers

29/12/2019 - Liverpool

29/02/2020 - Watford

07/03/2020 - Crystal Palace

Ha! That's interesting.

Or quite possibly back to Liverpool again!

Think the Prem belt is a great idea and just like us to hold it.

Not sure if you read the original post but City won the Prem last season so became the holders then the first team who beat them took the belt and so on until eventually we beat Watford and took it on and are now the current holders.

It's just for fun but if we end up winning it then its serious.

I'm sure there wouldn't be a problem in finding a space for it in our trophy cabinet.

I hardly think it is worth betting on us not losing any more matches this season. Perhaps one day we can get a real cup (not to take away from the Zenith Data Systems).

Yep, I don't think the Zenith Data Sytems cup takes up too much room in there.
