There used to be a travel agents at Crystal Palace called 'Thorn and Young' owned by erstwhile Director of our club Aggie D'Souza.

The Ninja's headband alone was better than most of today's pansy centre backs.

Damien Delaney deserves a mention. Brilliant in our promotion season and the first 2-3 seasons back in the premier league. Great defender and popped up with the odd goal, the only man I saw to have Costa in his pocket. Formed a great partnership with Dann. Not saying he's our best ever centre back but gave great service to the club and didn't cost anything. A palace legend imo.

Delaney used to do triathlons in pre-season to keep himself fit.
An old-school, no-nonsense defender who served us well.
An excellent 'Free' transfer signing by Freedman.

Not such a fan of Ruddock.

The Ruddock / Morrison partnership must go down as the heaviest centre half pairing we have ever fielded (and the slowest). I recall him splitting his shorts one game . Not a pretty sight.

Evidently Ruddock got fined umpteen times at our club for being overweight.
Apropos Ruddock and Morrison, both strong, competitive defenders and both left-footed.

Not suprised, boy could that guy drink. Got stuck in a celeb AmAm at golf with him one year, ended up costing me a small fortune!
