Roy's defensive mindset will ensure 1 point a game,so we should secure 4 points.

The problem is we only scored a single goal in those 2 games and that was a weak effort which the goalkeeper should have saved with some ease. The sheer dearth of goals could probably be our downfall in the battle to beat the dreaded drop. Aporopos Newcastle, in their last 2 away games they have drawn at Everton and Wolves, both creditable results. Edited by Willo (11 Feb 2020 9.23am) We did hit the woodwork twice against Everton and Pickford performed a terrific point-blank save to deny Bentenke. We were far more of a threat against Everton than we have been in any other games recently, which I see as a positive. I haven't seen Newcastle recently but in earlier games this season they set-up like us and ground out results rather than entertaining; perhaps that has changed? Brighton have a lot of attacking options but at the weekend they looked really nervous on the ball and gave it away on countless occasions; this was not the same team we saw dominate us and they did not have a swagger like before. If we are physical and press them I can see us winning. Re: Tomkins, I agree that I'd rather see Kouyate fill in than Dann. He's better on the ball and seems quicker.

I would play Kouyate alongside Cahill and not Dann. So would I, it then leaves a nice Riedewald shaped hole in midfield.

Nowt....... if we continue the current tactic of defending and trusting your luck. Look at our strikers like guns, without bullets to fire they are pretty much just useless lumps of metal. Thats what Roy's tactics do... we have some good guns but no actual firepower because no bullets.

Perhaps we will turn the corner and come out of our current malaise, although I think we are all of the opinion that Roy needs to do something different to turn our fortunes around. The thing is, our current line-up(s) is not that different from last season and then we were picking up points fairly regularly in the second half of the season. One can only hope that a bit of tinkering may get us back on track. Two wins from these four games would be good and give us a bit of breathing space again. Edited by Pete53 (11 Feb 2020 2.17pm)

6 or 7 points from next 4 games - the negativity on this page is unbelievable! Conversation of looking up after drawing to arsenal and city a few games ago, and now we have an inevitable extended bad run of form (3 league games) for the first time this season, and the fan base on here implodes... Despite a bad window, still 11 vs 11 on a Saturday - and many people were calling for a top 10 finish at least a few games ago with this same squad. You wouldn’t believe it from reading this post, but it’s lucky palace are generally a fairly steady team albeit a bit dull at times- god forbid we were sat in a ‘mundane mid table position’ 5 games ago with nothing to play for seemingly and another 'unexciting, boring season' in store! There should be a lot of happy Nigels now, judging by the predictions. Just need to beat Watford now and my prediction's solid. I think that will be where we might only get a draw. Edited by Tim Gypsy Hill '64 (29 Feb 2020 3.18pm)
