Being fit doesn’t seem to make much difference at the moment. I find it unlikely that either Andros or Cenk will start a game until either Benteke or Ayew is injured. I’m not knocking Ayew because he is playing great but in my opinion Roy needs to find a system where both Ayew and Townsend fit into the starting 11. We look so much more balanced as a team when Townsend plays. I would also pick Tosun over Benteke all day long but just can’t see it happening.

Assuming you play Wilf when fit, then only formation I can See where Ayew, Townsend and Tosun all play is:

VG
JW - JT - GC - PVA

Townsend - JM - JM2 - Wilf

Ayew - Tosun

I'd be happy with that (the ones with only initials are there only to make the point. defence pretty much picks itself when fit, Still not sure whos' best to make up that midfield 2)

Genuine question: What does that post mean?

And, by the way, I see that you list Northampton rugby among your interests. A few years ago there was a holmesdale regular poster who frequently mentioned that club. Are you he?

So just 4 points needed now to reach what many see as the magic safety number. quite feasible we could get them in the next two games but I'll stick with my earlier prediction of the Burnley game.

And with tonight we're ok for another year in the Premier, already in February, great achievement.
The important thing now is planning. We have a huge time advantage on many other teams who will struggle till the end, we have to use this advantage for our gain.

I agree . Just cant see how any of the teams Brighton and below get to 36 points . OK one might suddenly start winning but not all of them .
We will of course get more points anyway but 36 will be enough to stay up this season

Completely disagree that 36 points will do. Looking at the teams below us and the state of the teams above us it is entirely possible that even 40 points will not guarantee safety this season.
We were terrible today and should have lost. We need 2 more wins, in my opinion, to be safe and even now I am not sure we will be ok.

Rarely disappointed with Palace, always expect the worst! It's only when we're optimistic that it all goes wrong.

A win and a draw in our next 2 games will see us get to 40 points after 30 games with 10 wins, 10 draws and 10 losses. I would say it's possible and a win over Watford would be nice although they looked very good this evening.

agree with you 100%

we are where we are...and its fine by me.

mid-table comfort is great, even if we only move forward a couple of points or places a season it is still progress.
