Milivojevic, Kouyate - holding midfielders ?? Both can break up play but neither can hold the ball for more than a second. Meyer and Camarassa are the only two who can do this but won't be given much chance when the manager concentrates on not conceding many goals - although that plan went wrong against Spurs. If Brighton can beat Spurs on Saturday it will say much about our defensive tactics. The idea is that they would win the ball back and give it to the creative 3 in front of them.

If Brighton can beat Spurs on Saturday it will say much about our defensive tactics. Such a negatively selective viewpoint. We have conceded 7 goals this season -- joint second and only two more than Liverpool. But you pick as your yardstick the one game in which things went wrong against a side that shredded many in Europe last year. Also, remember we had a notoriously slow-to-get-match-sharp Sakho coming back. And then you say if Brighton beat them that it defines our defence? What if it's 8-7? C'mon. No. Our defence isn't second best in the league but I'll wager we'll have fewer goals against come May than Brighton and many other sides. And that is what defines our defence.

Your post encapsulates exactly why I said earlier thank Gpd Roy is the manager.

Are you calling foul the clearly logical equation (that I first came up with whilst at school) that because we were beaten 4-0 by Spurs and Spurs were beaten 7-2 by Bayern, that we would lose by at least nine goals to Bayern if we played them. I don't understand why a game we're not involved in can't define us. If only RH were here to clarify.

He had one game against Colchester and didn't impress, what makes people think he can produce in the Premier. Being foreign doesn't make you a superstar.
