Can you enlighten me (and others) as to what exactly is missing from his game? His passing is better than any of the other CMs as is his vision and his skill on the ball. His tackling and positional sense seem (to me at least) as good as any of the others. Also he's scored a goal this season. He is also younger and is improving all the time. What's not to like?

In the past I would probably say fitness, to me he never looked that sharp. This season he seems to have lost a few pound and is more up to speed though. Liking what I see now, in a non gay way.

The best balanced team the way Roy likes to set up would arguably have two holding midfielders behind Eze with Schlupp and Townsend in the wide areas and Batshuayi or Ayew up top.
This would move seamlessly between 433 to 451 and have people in their natural positions and get Eze into a more central attacking role.
I’m not for one moment advocating leaving out Zaha which would obviously be ridiculous, but he does complicate the picture.
He’s not a striker who can play up front by himself.
He’s not a Schlupp or Townsend in terms of his defensive diligence.
I would like to see Zaha in a fluid front 3 along with two of the other forwards and Eze in central midfield with two holders behind him.
I just can’t see Roy playing this system which would leave us potentially outnumbered in midfield and provide little protection for the full backs .
We’d score more but also concede more.

Yep, that’s pretty much as I see it. As one fan has mistakenly posted already on another thread, we could do with 12 players on the pitch to get the best out of our flair players.

Terrific today and unsung hero, hardly put a foot wrong with simple passing.

Exactly how it should be. While the bigger names get the headlines, it's players like Didier Deschamps and Ray Parlour who are crucial to keeping a team ticking over.

Jairo is a player whose potential is just waiting to explode. I think he is terrific and he has real vision. He tried a couple of scathing through passes today that didn't quite come off - but if they had... Keep playing him Roy please.

Not sure what Ray Parlour had got to do with it. The most ridiculous Essex accent ever, but liked a drink and a bet, so that makes him fine with me. Decent player as well.
