There was a Peckham-wide exhibition on last weekend. When I got back to Peckham Rye after the football on Sat, they were doing live Blood-Letting in the barbers near Barry's Cafe. Then on Sunday, after being amazed and grossed out by an Iron compass needle smelted from Human placentas, I was offered scones with (cooked) human blood in them at a live Art performance. It was all about the treatment of Aborigines in Australia, and British Colonialism. For about 10 minutes I decided to be Vegetarian. My Vegetarian friend on the other hand, who didn't read the info card put on the table in front of us nearly broke his 20year 'VeggiePledge' by eating human. I should never have warned him. Bah. But one interesting point is would someone have noticed without the sign? Probably not. Interesting story I read recently about lab-grown burgers. Could take a big chunk out of the environmental problems if they could produce that to scale. There was a programme showing experts unable to differentiate between the lab grown meat and a regular burger.

Many years ago, I was dating a vegetarian. Fortunately,....she still ate meat, and man-sauce Funnily, her dad was a Welsh sheep farmer. I think animal welfare is important to how your meat is sourced. Not just from an ethical perspective, but also regarding taste and health issues. Did you know that supermarket chickens have their feet cut off slightly higher, so remove evidence of faecal burning where they have been walking in their own faeces. I use a high street butchers, and you can taste the difference in their meat, which is all free-range/local Edited by Forest Hillbilly (04 Nov 2017 7.52pm)
