Just a tired observation, but work-wise there's a kind of cr*pness that seems to ensure a job for life, you can be rude, incompetent, unhelpful and an obstacle to anything good, while a tiny amount of a different type of cr*pness seems to invite alarm, disapproval and eventual redundancy. Am I being a tart here, or would someone care to enlighten me on the cr*pness I must aspire to to flourish in the world of work? I suspect it has to do with being non-threatening and subconsciously committing oneself to spiritual death, but if anyone can offer some practical advice, apart from early retirement or suicide, I would be very interested.

I think you have a point
I work hard, bring extra work to the table,
Turn up everyday and generally am what I would consider a model employee. I haven't been off sick for two years and use annual leave for doctors dentists etc.
The ones you are talking about have absolutely no moral fibre
They try everything to avoid doing a job they're paid to do. Swerving with any lame excuse. Going sick because they can with no thought about who indirectly will be affected.
Ie other people having to totally move their day around.
Now that pisses me off.
But it is with an element of sick admiration that I wish I could be as morally bankrupt as them. I just can't be like that though.
Like an angel on one shoulder and a devil on the other." Go sick avoid everything" but the angel saying " no it's not fair"
And that word ' fair ' is it in a nutshell that I took a tree to write

Also ex remember this

He who works hard and does his best
Goes down the road like all the rest
If you laze and mess about
You'll live to see the job right out
On your tombstone neatly laquared
These three words
JUST BLEEDIN KNACKERED

I think there's a 'third way' here that is more what I'm getting at. These people are never off sick, never late, but they play the game, have a public image of giving a sh*t when they don't really give a flying f*ck let alone a sh*t, they have no talent, and regard those who do as having criminal tendencies and will conspire against anything good through the medium of paperwork (or encrypted data). And they are allowed to be bloody useless cos they cover the a*ses of those above them who are similarly inept. You see I do know what to do, but I'd rather be dead than succeed in this way. Next we need to compile a list of names and swap lists.
