I backed Canelo but have to concede GGG won it, though I'd give it to him by 2/3 rounds. 118-110 is an absolutely disgraceful score. What can be done about this bent judging? It holds back boxing as a sport, time and time again we see it.
We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold... |

Did anyone see amir Khan talking about the fight after? They had the big screen behind him showing Canelo knocking Khan out on a loop, brilliant. Khan actually said 'as a fighter you'd rather lose than draw!' Maybe he will be our next manager.

Great to see a big fight live up to expectations. I know scoring is subjective however 18-10 is quite incredible. I find that typical of Oscar Dela Hoya fighters - he is the American Frank Warren. As others have already mentioned - perfectly sets up the rematch.

Watched it again. 2 quality fighters. Great skills. If it was a draw without the silly 110-118 it wouldn't be so controversial, still think GGG won though.

So that was on Mexican independence day and they're talking about the rematch being on 5th May, another Mexican holiday. Not at all dodgy that. GGG should ask to do it on the weekend of 16th December in Astana, see how they fancy that.

Just watched the fight, thats boxing at the highest level. Canelo did unreal but lost by at least 3 points. The judge who scored it 118 - 110 should have there licence revoked and aloud nowhere near a boxing ring. This is exactly why boxing has been dying along with the fact that theres too many champions. This has been the best year of boxing in my lifetime but decisions like this ruin the sport. GGG jab is the best in the game, and his footwork, the way he cuts the ring is the best i've ever seen. What a great fight!
