If someone ever asks you this question run in the opposite direction ... it means only one thing: "be still and look at me in silence while I give you a b*ll*cking." This holds true as if it were a dictionary definition. My advice is to reply 'concorde' and walk off if you ever get asked thus. Gordon Strachan once said 'velocity' in reply apparently. A 'quiet word' usually means an apology, a 'word' on its own normally means bad news but you're not to blame, but a quick word is a b*ll*cking 99.9h%. If you have experience of this 'catch' phrase, or know any others someone apart from me may be interested, you never know.

In my office, someone with enough authority to apply a bollocking, would take a dim view of me yelling "concorde" and running away. I dare say they'd wait for me to return and then give me even more of a bollocking.

Might work with the police though if you can drive faster than them and you know a good lake for your car to hide in.

I never suggested yelling and by running away I merely meant escaping, just put a hand on their shoulder and quietly into their ear say concorde or acceleration or such like and then vacate the area, maybe with a knowing wink to keep them guessing.
