Has anybody either had a contractor in to sound proof a party wall or done it themselves?

My place is semi detached.
The adjoining property is bed sits, I think the layouts been altered as I've now clearly got a kitchen sink & cupboards against the bedroom wall.
Getting woken up most nights by their clunking about & the squeeling sprog in the adjoining room.
probably just going to stick a sound proofed plasterboard & decorate but would be interested if anybody has experience or actually does this as a trade?

Soundblock board (blue plasterboard) isn't really worth a rub mate.
They do a plasterboard with 'sound deadening', rockwool on the back, you need to stud the wall out first though as you can't dot and dab it to the wall. I'd stud the wall out and pack it with sound proof rock wool then board it with the blue board, get the tapered edge board then you can fill the joints and screw holes.

Near Croydon but bloody busy at the moment. Happy to help if you need any advice, that's two of us recommended the same thing now pretty much.

One of my painters is good at small works, so I'll get him on it when I can spare him.
May PM you regarding a materials list.
