All

Looking at taking the missus to Madrid for the weekend in November. I work shifts so checked my rota to see I have a block of days off that fall on the same time as Athletico vs. Real. Realistically, how easy would it be to obtain fair priced tickets for this game? I'd be willing to pay €100 per ticket for them..

Also which areas are good to stay in Centrally? With the time of the year I guess she'd wanna do some Christmas shopping etc and we'd want to be near the Hard Rock Cafe as we do this thing where we're trying to visit as many HRCs as poss!

Any help appreciated thank you!!!!

You can stay on Gran Via relatively cheaply. EUR 100 per night. Santa Ana is great in the evening, full of good restaurants and bars.

El Rastro is well worth a visit on the Sunday.

Enjoy. Madrid is a great city.

Madrid is a lovely city. I tend to stay out near the Prado as I like to run in the park. If the weather is ok then most things are walkable and if not the tube is pretty good.

I think you can get tickets from €30 so €100 for a sold out match should be possible. There will be touts in the square at Sol tube station.

Depending on the Euro rate, shopping is cheaper than the UK.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Air bnb is a good cheap option. Me and my family (5 of us) got a 3 bed apt for €70 per night.

I´m Spanish and I´m living in Fuenlabrada (A city in South Madrid).
I´ll recommend you a place (hotel, hostel, apartment, etc.) near Retiro Park because is a wonderfull neighbourhood and Madrid is a city that you can go to the city centre by step, walking around the touristic sights.
For the derby, you can dress a Real Madrid or Atletico T-shirt whithout problems.
Atletico´s Fans are the "Indios or Colchoneros", such as the western films.
Real Madrid Fans are the "Vikingos".

Jorge

Stubhub, Viagogo or Ticketmaster I have used.

Be careful around Gran Via and would suggest that you do not employ the services of a €30 street hooker. They look horendous but if you do, please share your experience on here.
