I don't know which day it was and frankly I don't care but would you believe three pairs of contestants all turned a chance to go for Bully's special prize, then the non-dart player gets two treble twenties with his first two darts to win a speedboat (very useful in Rotherham apparently) and then the dart player gets confused and starts hitting the lighted numbers on Bully's prize board, losing a clock and a bedside table, he scored on his next dart but only won a train set. I might have to stop watching - bit like Davis v Taylor with the final black - there's nowhere else to go. Mind you how after ten years of broadcasting Jim Bowen manages without fail to fluff his lines in a vain and misguided attempt to fake spontaneity will always be a source of wonder.

sad news, but I'm not sure his ailments would have that much of an effect - especially when he used to round up the show at the end, couldn't do much worse now bless him.
