It seems we now have our full quota of 20 teams, so are all ready to go. Thank you to everyone who has chosen to take up the challenge this year. I hope you all enjoy taking part! Awww I was too late. Sorry

I have changed my team name. Mine is now That Zaha Don. I don't know why, but it sounded rude.

Our Fantasy Premier League went right down to the wire this year, with several teams in contention to win the title on the final day of the season. In the end, the top two teams finished with equal records of 23 wins, 0 draws and 15 losses, with the winning side being determined by the total scores awarded throughout the whole season as both finished level on 69 points. Now that every goal, assist and clean sheet has finally been counted, I can reveal the title-winning team of the 2016/17 Holmesdaleship Fantasy Premier League is CP Sparrowhawks! Congratulations to CP Sparrowhawks on a fine league championship win, whose league-leading score of 2,132 narrowly edged Eaglesnest into the runner-up spot with 2,018. A gallant effort from Eaglesnest nonetheless. Commiserations to all who gave it a go, but whose teams just fell short after a league campaign that saw the lead change hands a good number of times over the course of the season. I hope you all had fun taking part, wherever your team finished, and enjoyed the head-to-head format especially as it may be new to some of you. Also, a belated congratulations to Hyde Park Connexion, the team that won the inaugural Holmesdaleship Fantasy Premier League in 2015/16. Thank you to all who took up the challenge this season and last for your interest and participation. The time you were able to spare in your busy lives to make the league work so well is very much appreciated. Please feel free to join up again next season when places become available! Congratulations and well done once again to last season’s Holmesdaleship winner Hyde Park Connexion and this year’s top team, CP Sparrowhawks.

It amused me that all season I was virtually bottom of a normal fantasy football league and with about 4 weeks to go of the head-to-head league I had a brief spell in 1st! Well done to the winners. I took my eye off the ball with the Friday fixtures at the end but wouldn't have won anyway. Thank you for organising, I'll join again next year if you use the same website.

You're very welcome James! I'll be doing another one with the same format again next season, so keep an eye out for it on here during the summer and I'll be more than happy to have you join up again.
