There's no signs in Australia about crocodiles, or spiders under the toilet seats either.

You've gotta be pretty naive to let your kid paddle in water unattended anywhere.

Normally of course I would agree, But at a theme park for kids on a beach for kids...

As i said i struggle to see how Disney thought it would be a good idea to have give access to kids to a beach that they know is populated by alligators, then not have the appropiate signage or some sort of divide.

I heard one witness said the whole thing happened within 30 seconds... scary

You couldn't imagine a theme park in the UK with a lake inhabited by crocs that would allow access to people as well.

It's not in the theme parks, this is a resort near to them.

Even if the kid hadn't entered the water he could have been taken that quickly from the beach. They have a good turn of pace.

I did too initially. You hear Disney and just presume it's the parks, I was expecting it to be the Animal Kingdom.

the kid was attended. like 2 inches of water. there's water and sand - kids will go dip their toes in.

i have 3 little guys - little ba#tards run off all the time. takes 2 secs for me to be distracted and i've lost site for 10-15 secs. so easy to happen.

that sandy beach shouldn't be there if they didn't want kids in the water. it's basically inviting people to go there and dip a toe in. awful.

That was precisely my thinking, jumped the gun! Either way absolutely tragic!

No weakest per se, Evolution doesn't specifically filter out the weakest or weakness, or genes, its about their adaptability and suitability to the environment.

The key, of course here is that being a man with mental illness is of no survival benefit when faced with two lions. That said, without mental illness the outcome is pretty similar.

Evolution kills the strong too, as exampled by the rise of mammals, due to an environmental change.

Its worth remembering that mental illness has increased over the centuries, not decreased, so its not evolutionally speaking disadvantageous (and could even be beneficial).

..the understanding of mental problems has increased, eventually every single human alive will be informed of the mental issues they have.

mental issue does not = mental illness. the same as that i can't jump very high does not mean that i have a medical problem. being aware of my jumping restrictions is nice in case i get into a scrape with a kangaroo but it doesn't mean i am classified with a medical problem.
