Commuters should just have a sleep in, and use the strikes as a excuse for being late or leaving early, or for not being able to get in at all etc. I used to find that train strikes made for a rather handy excuse. People these days are either all self employed or far too honest or stupid to make life work for them.

If you choose to use a strike as an excuse to sit your arse, eat battenburg and watch Cash in the Attic, then that's your choice.

Did I not say that this was all about cost cutting, before you got menstrual with me and said that 'I didn't know what I was talking about'? I have sympathy with the guards BTW, as said previously. If they want to really get commuters on their side, would suggest that spell out the function they do, not just bland statements about 'safety' but really explain the issue properly, without emotion. As I said previously, I then think that the majority of commuters will be on their side. I said it wasn't about money from the guards point of view, it was about safety, that's why drivers are against it, they believe it to be unsafe. Shareholders think it's a great idea.

Or does your LGBTQ approved history teaching guide only go back to June 1979? Edited by matt_himself (04 May 2016 7.42pm)

Southern rail strikes cancelled and replaced with 24-hour walkout A union official said: “We realise that this dispute may be prolonged. We therefore cancel the strike action called for Tuesday 10 May to Wednesday 11 May and for Thursday 12 May to Friday 13 May. “Instead, we instruct our members to take strike action by not working any shifts that book on between 00.01 and 23.59 on Friday 20 May.”

Edited by matt_himself (04 May 2016 7.42pm) A terrible irony really, is that Trade Union disputes and action have probably cost Labour Governments far more in political capital and damage, than Conservative Governments. Still, as I like to say, f**k Labour, the corporate shilling sell out c**ts...

I have next week off, and would have missed the strikes, so they delay them to make sure they get me!
