Felt much the same about my great uncle Adolf

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry.

But please do not openly celebrate as it's racist

What's racist about celebrating a Syrian who never set foot in this country. Who in addition was championed by all intents and purposes a Frenchman (who may have been homosexual likely bisexual)to replace a perfectly good Anglo Saxon saint.

Sounds very inclusive to me.

I have prepared one of my own time capsules. I have placed some rather large samples of dynamite, gunpowder and nitroglycerin. My time capsule is set to go off in the year 3000. It will show them what we are really like.

It's not a chalkboard Ash. It's a blackboard.

You got reeled in there didn't you.

A lot of English people don't go big on St Georges's day because they have larger minds. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for a large chunk of the World's population.
I prefer to think of England in more practical terms.
Politicians have been slowly ruining it for years.

Well said, there are a number of 'St Georges & England Day things' on in NYC today. I wont be attending any & I've always had a quiet satisfaction that we must be one of the few countries that don't deem it necessary to have a parade down Fifth avenue.

Not much, if anything of note, happened in our area. A few flags waving from passing cars and the event just went and passed on by. Not even a dragon to speak of unless you include the bar lady down at the local.

It is, or is it because so many people who are racist co-opt the 'cause'. After all no one seems to have a problem with St Davids, Andrews or Patricks day.
