Certain Sunni Islamists seem to be a rather specific problem for the Western nations, a problem that even many of the Shia Islamists are generally more localised than international in their outlook, usually being linked to national struggles (such as Palestine, Lebanon and the Golan Heights). Even Iran, is largely about Iranian political issues and its 'anti-US' vitriol is more about historical enemies and the US support of Israel.
