This guy is hilarious... i was fortunate enough to be travelling on the same line once (so I'm assuming it's the same bloke) and he cracked me up every time he made an announcement, I remember him saying that we were passing through Balham, the home of world famous Bal - Ham hamburger. He made it sound a lot funnier than I did though.

Man is the most insane species. He worships an invisible God and destroys a visible Nature. Unaware that this Nature he’s destroying is this God he’s worshipping.

season before last after we beat chelsea 1-0. we got on the train at selhurst and the driver was loving it!

If i remember right, He announced through the public address system that 'this service was for palace fans only', bellowed eagles a few times and and repeatedly sounded the train horn for the palace fans to chant along to - utter legend

4 playoff finals, Claridge, Hopkin, Shipperley, Phillips....

Life's never dull!

Many years ago (Late 70s perhaps) there used to be a very entertaining bus conductor on the old red buses.

For instance, when he was about to go upstairs he used to bellow out words to the effect "I'm just going up to the bedroom" and once when announcing where we were stopping he said "Shirley Park - for a lark after dark" ! A real character who brought smiles to peoples faces.

Bloody Hell Willo. Was that you?

I remember him well. On the 119. I used to get it to school and he'd say things like "Don't jump in a puddle, you'll get in a muddle" as we hung off the platform at the back of the bus (only after it had been raining mind. He wasn't mental or anything). Also, when paid a 10p fare with a 50p he came back with "If I'm not naughty I'll give you forty" quick as a flash.

Wasted on the buses he was. Should've been on the stage [coach].

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry.

Travelling home after Chrystanbul, the driver burst into a chorus of "you know it's true, we're red and blue" as the train pulled in to West Croydon. Most entertaining.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham
