For a series or two Blankety Blank was very, very funny indeed and Terry the perfect host.

He had a very interesting life and provided lots of entertainment, extremely sad that anyone has to suffer this menace.

Very sad about this one. I used to absolutely love sitting there with a few beers and watching Eurovision unravel with Terry getting increasingly pissed and sarcastic. He was brilliant on the radio as well and needless to say raised millions for charity.

He did very well.

I liked him, as I got older. When I was a kid and teen I didn't get it, but there was something about Terry Wogan, that as you mature, it clicks and you realise just how funny the guy could be, without having to seem to try.

To 'dull and lite entertainment' what Humphrey Lyttelton was to radio comedy.

I was never a fan of his style but it sounds like he was a nice bloke.
I sense a steady erosion of the fabric of my life which seems to be accelerating lately. That's what happens when you get to a certain age I suppose. I would be nice if no one of significance died for a while.

Well done The Sash for pointing that out, that seems to have passed most people by. I remember it though being reported a few years ago with the CIN accounts report.

I had dealing with him back in the late 90's when I worked for a "golf trolley company". He wanted a "free trolley" as having him use one would bring more sales... When the company initially refused he said that "refusing him" would "destroy the company".. So they gave in. Then Forsyth did the same a couple of months later...

To be fair at the time he was only on a £900k a year contract...so that bit of extra pocket money, paid for by some deluded soul from Dudley sitting in a bath of custard for 24 hours must have helped with the shopping
