yep watched it was interesting insight but the documentary are a bit bias they left out some key facts there was other evidence they dident include two sides to every story but there is no doubt ofc that there is corruption

Watched this just recently, superb film making and an incredible story. I also saw there are now online petitions flying about all over the place trying to get something done about it. Be interesting to see if anything else develops.

Sat down and watched all 10 episodes on Saturday. It highlighted what I think is a major problem in law enforcement - the unwillingness to conduct full and proper investigations of police procedures and the total reluctance to accept responsibility and accountability for failures (or to implement actual procedures). That the prosecution DA and team only seek to reject the claims of the defence, rather than investigate their own is shocking and indicative of a conspiracy or simple desire to achieve conviction rather than justice. I'd say there is enough reasonable evidence to suggest that the county on several occasions violated the right of Mr Avery to a fair trial, and questions that were unanswered regarding excluded law enforcement conducting searches, reliability of witnesses testimony, access and security of evidence (the blood vial) and the questionable 'late discovery' of evidence. Also the failure to investigate other possible suspects, such as the ex boyfriend, roommate, brother etc - notably after they committed questionable actions was shocking. Also the collusion between prosecution and defence in the Nephews case, was absolutely grounds for a mistrial. Do I think he did it, possibly, but was it proven beyond reasonable doubt, certainly not. The nephew, probably not, the questioning was leading, suggestive and utterly unprofessional (and potentially illegal).

yep watched it was interesting insight but the documentary are a bit bias they left out some key facts there was other evidence they dident include two sides to every story but there is no doubt ofc that there is corruption I think it comes to an interesting question about guilty; I don't think the defence proves him to be innocent, but that there is reasonable doubt, that the actions of the state prosecution were dubious and that media coverage essentially made it impossible to ensure a fair trial. I think he may well have done it, but that the failures of the prosecution and case building were so bad that its impossible to be certain. Certainly, the entire judiciary, sheriffs department and court staff seem to be incompetent or corrupt, and the failure to look at other possible suspects is damning (especially close friends and relatives). It certainly looks like the county and state wanted him convicted, rather than the murder solved, and that is an issue as the presumption is innocent until proven guilty. Almost from the outset they seemed to have one man in their sights, and eliminated other potential suspects without investigation.

I watched all 10 episodes last week and normally I'm the type of guy that thinks everyone who appears in court is guilty but this just left me gobsmacked. What I couldn't understand amongst many things in this case was what was the motive? The defence certainly couldn't come up with one. Why when you have just been released and are in the public eye and just about to be awarded millions of dollars would you then murder someone who everyone knows you will be the last person to see her alive due to her appointment there? He had a crusher on site to get rid of the car and 5 days to do it in. Why would you park it at the back and just put some branches over it? Why would you just leave all the bones in the incinerator when again he had 5 days to get rid of them? No motive? not a speck of her DNA or blood anywhere in the trailor where they claim she had her throat cut or in the garage? His blood in her car from a cut finger but none of his fingerprints? His old blood sample clearly tampered with and a syringe mark in it? Officers from his original rape trial and embarrassed in the subsequent enquiry involved in the searches, not signing in through the crime scene log and the car key found on his bedroom floor after the 8th search 4 months later? There are questions that need answering from his side to but beyond REASONABLE DOUBT??.... Not a chance in my opinion.
Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!! |

And as for the young lad... Convicted on nothing more than a persistent confession change. A clearly socially dysfunctional and backward 16 year old bullied into a confession by two detectives who asked him leading question after leading question. No lawyer, parent or appropriate adult present... Absolutely disgusting.

Watched it the other weekend... highlights a few things.. don't fvck about with the Police in Wisconsin... and the Documentary should have included all the evidence that was available
