Enough of a scandal on its own without mentioning the new Shadow Defence Minister being connected to a firm so damaging to our forces. I was shocked last week when I heard of the thousands of ongoing cases against soldiers who'd served in Iraq. This would explain it then... Let's digest this piece first before we look at the laughable appointment of this odious snob to the 'Labour' party and whether she actually has any interest in the defence of the country. That's what happens when Labour elect a nutter to be their leader. Appointing Emily Thornbury as Shadow Defence Minister is on a par with Corbyn putting Ken Livingstone as joint chairman of Labour's defence review. Edited by nhp61 (07 Jan 2016 9.03pm)

Edited by johnfirewall (07 Jan 2016 6.12pm) I don't think the defense of the country was well served by the politicians who voted for the war or the press that compliantly went along with it. The Middle East is more unstable and terrorism more of a threat than ever and all they have in mind is more of the same. Thornbery was on the right side on that one. She was right about that white van man Sun reader as well.
